I'm having the same problem (and had a rant about it on X a few weeks ago [1]).

We get ~50% of traffic from ChatGPT now, unfortunately a large amount of the features it says we have are made up.

I really don't want to get into a state of ChatGPT-Driven-Development as I imagine that will be never ending!

Yeah there are a couple of us! We've met one Canadian couple personally who run a SaaS and a few others that freelance and do other online work.

But actually we don't often talk about work with people we meet, it's the sailing challenges that usually connect us!

Do you have starlink on your boat?

Update:

hmm...

HEY! Lemme get this amazing satalitte internet thingy for our boat - sail to the middle of the ocean and then turn it off for a ~~murder~~ DETOX! Yay.

Yes! We got one last year but we didn't use it on the Atlantic crossing as we were trying to do a bit of a digital detox.

Hey HN, I spent a few hours to create a method of automatically translating our website into any language with GPT-3. All the code and prompts are available for anyone to try the same method.

If anyone has any questions or suggestions then I'd love to hear them!

It's the most fun one for sure

Does it!? I haven't really seen this, maybe I can tweak the prompts a little to compensate. If you want to drop me an email that would be super :)

You can provide email examples as training data

Hey HN! Yesterday I launched Ellie, an extension that helps you reply to emails using OpenAI.

Ellie learns your writing style, and uses the email thread to create context and craft a reply as if it was you.

Currently Ellie is a Chrome extension that only supports Gmail, but I'll be working on supporting more email clients and browsers soon!

When you say it learns your writing style, does that mean previously seen emails are stored somehow?

I tried it briefly and it dealt well with my contrived tests! Even in other languages, though there it wasn't perfect. Nice work.

Currently you provide some example emails and the replies you sent to them, and that's used in the prompt.

Working on a fine-tune that uses more of your sent items that you can specify.

Though it can be crazy good without any training at all!

If you could support Migadu and Firefox it would be awesome. I strangle with English (and to some extent with my native language, Greek) so I would love to check tool that improve my text based communications.

> I strangle with English [...]

You mean "struggle". You might want to check grammarly: https://www.grammarly.com/ - no affiliation.

Please support FastMail!

I use fastmail so probably it will be next :)

Thanks for the reply! I figured from this thread that it wasn't anything malicious from Gitbook's side and more of a Cloudflare bug, so it's good to hear your explanation!

Edit: Oh also, I did remove the domain from Gitbook so you should really remove it at that point no?

We only remove the domain from Cloudflare when the content is deleted. The main reason is to avoid broken links when users update their domain on GitBook.

Ex: 1. You configure docs.mycompany.com with your GitBook space 2. You share links to docs.mycompany.com on social medias 3. You update the domain to docs.anothercompany.com 4. It's better if the docs.mycompany.com links can continue working until you remove the DNS entry

In summary, we want the users to decide through their DNS config when GitBook should serve the content or not to avoid breaking links without an intentional action from the user.

Unfortunately, because of how Cloudflare doesn't use the DNS configuration to decide where to route the traffic, it causes issues atm. We'll look at what we can do on our side to mitigate this.

Any sort of help message about this when disabling the domain would help :)

In my case I don't have the orange cloud on! But yes it must be an internal routing issue.

I think that you're right, it's related to Cloudflare's SaaS SSL product [1].

I'm totally ignorant of how it works but I guess that because everything is taking place within Cloudflare's network they're not hitting the DNS record after it's initially set up, they're just routing the traffic internally.
