A lot of the vibecoded interactive experiences remind me of these interactive books i had as a kid where you would open different hidden parts to explore. At some point it gets boring, i do not want to click one million times to find the information I am looking for. So, it is not interactive, this is a chore.
And yet I have felt a general code quality decrease and overall enshittification of software products since 2023 when people were already using copilot. Or I am just biased to use that to justify any overengineered piece of shit code with that because I refuse to think any sane person would come up with such contrived code and I am looking at the wrong places.
Such claims cannot be trusted as long as these news drive the heat score and hype of the companies, because these will always be inherently subjective, even unconsciously to what they want to believe. Is it real or is it LARP
Increasingly more of it, as we become more saturated with information. Image-maxxing is probably a more modern term.
Pretending that the thing you want to be true is true so people who don't have the attention bandwidth assume it's true. Similar to a foam sword I guess.
We go to lengths to complicate and make expensive the things that are not. A dumb phone costs 30/50 eur max. It does not have internet connectivity and it does not have maps. Use an smartphone for that. Use both. Strap them together. And it's still cheaper.
Of course they are - and that's the point I am making. The agent will use every tool in the tool bag. And there's something cool about it systematically trying to achieve its goal.
What I don't see is it inventing anything novel to do it. So it's not a digital weapon or scary or whatever sort of weird marketing spin anyone is trying to put on it.
And these things are documented for humans do, and yet only a tiny portion of humanity can do these things.
When seeing how agents put together exploit chains they are far better than most people, you start getting to the point that they are just below the capabilities of the top researchers. Now remember that quantity is a quality itself and while there aren't that many good cyber security researchers, we're shitting out thousands of GPUs per day.
