idk maybe apple can release fbx or blender files?

I mean these seem nice for print-decorations...

No decent engineering firm is going to want to work with FBX or Blender files. In fact they probably wouldn't even know what to do with them. Even proper model formats such as STEP files don't give you the details that are on a drawing that you actually need to do anything useful with these.

I’ve only dabbled with cad for 3d modelling in Onshape. It seems that there all kinds of ways to add measurements in the render files. Not sure about blender.

MBD is a thing, however that doesn't really matter here, for making accessories you can more or less just assume all dimensions are perfect since you need some compliance for the accessory to be installable. What I'm talking about that can't be encoded in a model easily are things like the keepout area for the camera.

The reason you don't want Blender files at all in any sort of engineering is because it's a mesh. You can't pull any useful information, even something simple like a radius, from a mesh.

Someone in the community will, or already do it. 3D model of Apple product is easier to find than other brands.

Actually, I've been looking this kind of official drawing for practice product modeling and rendering.

Roll your own?

any link to presentations/papers on this?

I'm interested on learning ZKPs -- they seem so much like "fairy-tale come true" because I don't know much

Here's a site with a few (three) introductory articles on ZKPs: https://zkintro.com

One in particular on pratical implementation of ZKPs was popular on HN back in 2024: https://zkintro.com/articles/programming-zkps-from-zero-to-h... (discussion at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=41398092)

I liked this: "I can prove I’ve solved this Sudoku without revealing it" https://youtu.be/Otvcbw6k4eo

nym.com might have some. They use stuff like that heavily and there's a bunch of academics involved.

Also ZCash.

It's standard cryptography, not some new-fangled tech! Wikipedia even has some easy examples:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-knowledge_proof

Main caveat is that ZKPs are probabilistic. The protocol (number of rounds etc) determines how sure, e.g. 99.9%. But never 100%.

Second caveat: tech- and crypto-bros play fast and loose with the term "ZKP", either because they don't know any better (marketing) or they straight up lie. Whether any application you run actually uses ZKP (or any other cryptography scheme) is unknown unless you have the source code.

Reading that, the execution is now deterministic but the soundness is still probabilistic and <100%, no? Unless I'm reading it wrong.

hmm could you explain more?

- The big problem is that malicious ads are being displayed without appropriate attribution

- Add that attribution -- blame Google (or, supposing the ads are good, credit Google; a good header goes a long way toward swaying people's opinions)

- But it doesn't matter if a single website appropriately attributes Google's highest/lowest-quality ads. The last step (speculative and hand-wavy) is to incorporate that behaviour in some sort of software more people want to use. If you're fighting alone then you'll lose. If you can convince more people that appropriately crediting Google's advertising successes and blaming their malicious failures is advantageous, you'll (by definition) have more traction in the anti-megacorp-endorsed scams and other life-altering consequences.

Ad viewers are about as empowered as the cow the goes into your cheeseburger. No agency, and no communication mechanism to the rancher’s actual customer.

These companies that abstain from adsense and it’s revenue are WWW vegans.

The second you load JS onto your page, you lose that ability, you know that, right? the scammy ads aren't limited to that tiny little box you designate for ads. Advertisers work around that limitation pretty easily, and you should also probably read AdSense terms of service before doing too much to blame google. Some of the language will surprise you.

Such as? Provide the relevant context that you're referring to as suprising.

When you put it like that, it seems like it's too dangerous to offer that kind of access! Maybe Google shouldn't sell it.

Couldn't this be a browser extension?

Probably, but then only the people with that extension would see the note.

If people are going to learn to install an extension, it should be UBlock Origin. That will solve more problems than attributing scam ads.

hmm thought this was about adwords JS 'intelligently' reading page contents, and when it finds such attribution with some special tags, filters out certain ads...

well thought I was getting some actual useful tip

hmm seems "Everyone can control themself" is assumed here

well, if you look at legal side, the OPPOSITE is assumed in many cases:

- age-limits on smoking cigar(rettes)/sex/drinking

- soft-limits on gambling

- hard-limits on drugs

well what can you expect?

"Head of" + "Strategic" + "Futures"...?

hard to not attract insane people

...molesting? a country? ...how?

Sending ICE agents to chase around random children and demand they (on their own) provide proof of citizenship sure seems to fit the bill to me.

"If you are famous they let you do anything!"

> with pen and paper level of technology

definitely try out:

galaxy s9 ultra tab (wacom! edit: also, 14.6 inch: bigger than any ipad series)

+ LAMY s-pen

+ paper-feel screen protector

(and optionally felt-tip nibs)

miles better than MPP or AES or other crap: those can't draw diagonal lines without wobbling, thought I was getting parkinsons

I had iPads and Apple Pencils - but nothing beats the pleasure of ink pen on paper.

wait I can't find "The information is in people's heads" in that article

(what's the exact phrase?)

btw, if that's the problem, why not chop it off before leaving?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

well Deno has the necessary ingredients for defense: file-system permission by path

for rough roads, fat-tires are the way to go

How rough before even that's not enough, and were typical roads at the time of this quality?

Also, consider when vulcanised rubber and inflatable tires were invented.

I lived near a church from 1200s surrounded by cobblestone, and owned a decent mountain bike at the time. Just no.
