That already happened. Redot is a major fork that's more community-driven and positive. They're also fine with AI use, as long as you review, understand, and take responsibility for everything you do with it. https://github.com/Redot-Engine/redot-engine
I really don't like how EUDI (OpenID4VP) works in the first place. IMO it should be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up
It should be an open standard that's local first. Government issues certificate, user loads it into any supported client app on any platform (official, open-source, Google/Apple Wallet, etc). The user should then be able to selectively share data from the certificate with third-parties, directly between the client-app and the third-party, using an open standardized protocol/format. The important challenge is that we obviously shouldn't have to share the entire certificate (which would include all data in it), there shouldn't be a static subject pubkey which creates linkability between data-shares, and obviously we'd need privacy-focused data fields like {"isover18": true} in addition to full DoB.
EU regulation is not the problem, it's the national governments. They are the ones who create red tape and high taxation almost every step of the way, and create years of delays when even one crazy person complains.
Of course I have my political opinions and world views, but I absolutely do not want an LLM to mirror my opinions, or even worse try to mirror the opinions of "my political side". I also don't need "an LLMs opinion". I need it to give me all relevant sides to an argument, as well as what dialogue and debates have been happening.
Elon Musk's companies launch rockets, build the most high-tech electric cars, host the world's most relevant social network, deploy high-speed internet to most of the world, build one of the world's leading LLMs, I could go on...
Teslas aren't the most high-tech these days. They have fallen behind on the hardware side, particularly in charging and batteries. Here's a charging speed comparison:
This is so simple to prevent, it's just a matter of prompting. The fact that the bank didn't proactively secure against this makes me glad that I'm not one of their customers.
I am not OP, but completely isolating the AI from any actions other than what's expected would be a start. IE a specific API only for the AI, in which there is not even any access for the prompt injection to even make sense. But just an idea from an onlooker.
Don't waste your attention on this pop-culture legal drama. While there does appear to be a legitimate case involving an unfortunate high-risk contract between a victim and a business franchise, anything published by this Reckless Ben character simply cannot be taken seriously. Ben's actions are nothing but targeted harassment, and only result in a weaker legal position for the victim. He consistently, and seemingly intentionally, chooses to misunderstand the law. When his actions have consequences, he goes so far as to sling wild conspiracy theories about corruption involving the police department.
Ben's actual intention is to create drama content for clicks and views. This is also true for secondary sources like 404media, Dexerto, and Kotaku, as well as other YouTube creators like Penguinz0 and Asmongold. Ultimately they're all after $$$. Though not to defend this business either, as it should be obvious that anything involving high-value Lego collecting is similar to NFTs, but even more scummy and degenerate. It's weaponized nostalgia.
It's more evidence that the future is local. With some time we'll all be running highly capable & efficient open-source models on dedicated NPUs. No censorship, no rate limits, no overpriced subscriptions.
I will go ride my horse, and get a bit drunk off some ale at the local pub. You go enjoy your automobile, electricity, and telephony.
Electricity is overhyped anyway. Nikola Tesla is a scammer with his crazy ideas. Not to mention the scam that is Bell's telephony. Electricity is causing a copper shortage for us common folk. This electricity bubble is built only on hype, and will pop soon enough!
You've named technologies that people were heavily speculating on that did experience bubbles. A useful technology and a painful misallocation of resources is far from mutually exclusive.
Companies have become so big that an announcement of the CEO of a top 25 capitalization company equates to the one of the G20 countries bar a couple
Hence they should be treated with the same level of skepticism of a politician making a false promise just to get elected, actually more skepticism because the vaporware announcement starts making money from the CEO/Founder the second after they make it
