I figured he had been given questions like those to ask but simply didn't understand anything he was told.


Or was given questions to ask and not coached on how to ask those questions when the executive predictably waved it away.

"Are you sending any info back to your servers about what else is on the local network" would have been a perfect question, with a possibly worrying answer, but now instead everyone is laughing about "hur dur does tiktok use wifi" and using a dumb person being dumb to handwave away legitimate concerns.

or they purposely asked a vague question that could elicit multiple different answers depending on someone's interpretation.

The US gov hates TikTok because they can’t influence them like they influenced twitter during COVID. US tech industry hates TikTok because they are having their lunch eaten by it. Perfect formula for corpo-fascist policies like banning software for “security” reasons.
