I never used to have tinnitus, but I started getting it after quitting and returning to marijuana. Abstaining from weed leaves me tinnitus-free after a week or two of withdrawal, but immediately returns if I take a puff. Tobacco seems to intensify the effects but doesn't cause anything on it's own.
