KDE ships klipper by default which is the same thing and works fantastically. Supports multimedia and is fast, I only wish it had a cli tool instead of having to use xclip or qdbus. On windows I find ditto much more performant than the native clipboard manager.
It's not the same thing, it's much better, because you can have a shortcut for "clipboard backwards" and "clipboard forwards", which changes clipboard content based on the history of it.
In other words, if you want 3rd history item from the top, unlike on Windows, where you need to press Win+V, down, down, enter, here I press CTRL+W, W.
There's also Actions Configuration, where you can implement custom actions based on the clipboard contents in Win+V dialogue.
One of mine: if there's something resembling postal tracking number according to regexp, add "Print label" item which prints its barcode on my Bluetooth thermoprinter.
1. It loads instantly rather than taking 2-3 seconds like the Windows version, which is super annoying
2. It retains the clipboard history across reboots, unlike the Windows version
3. It doesn't have a limit to the number of pastes saved, unlike Windows which has a limit of I think 10, so you can find entries from weeks ago
4. It's searchable
5. There's an incognito mode for when you need to copy and paste a bunch of things which you won't need later, or when you're copying sensitive information
Big fan, one of those things that are such a UX improvement that make using Windows feel like a hassle.
The emoji and symbol picker on Windows 10 has type-to-search for emojis but not for symbols. It's such an annoying restriction. It's quicker to find and copy symbols from the web than trying to find them in the picker.
I don't know if Windows 11 is the same, but I hope this software hasn't copied it if it is.
I use Maccy: https://github.com/p0deje/Maccy but last versions are kinda slow and it has a bug where it doesn't correctly delete old entries and the database keeps growing to >10 GB and RAM usage spikes to 1 GB.
Yeah, I do wonder how this works for those copying keys and other private strings around. I'd rather they disappear on the next ^c than be pushed into an array somewhere, or worse, stored on disk.
It's fine? Might be worse than Windows, but unless you spend long times away from a charger, it doesn't really matter, does it?
To answer your question, I might probably get around 5-6 hours of video playback (local files, not streamed) on my generic cheap x86 machine from 3 years ago from full to empty, but I don't have the windows equivalent numbers, and I limit charging at 80% and charge at 40% anyway so I don't actually go through a full charge cycle.
