So, just as a curiosity, why don't you create a $5/month VPS or something even cheaper, throw nginx/apache/caddy on there, make it fetch from a git repository once a minute or whatever, then call it a day? What does the service need to provide for it to be worth paying so much more for?

I've seriously considered it, but then the VPS is my single point of failure. If there's a new nginx/apache/caddy/linux 0day that could compromise my server, I have to care about it and update.
