Of course there's need to analyze it. Understanding why "it tastes good", why "some tastes better than others", and - oft overlooked - what leads to a reliably enjoyable experience for which you are willing to shell out considerably more money on a regular basis, necessitates analyzing it. As for the conspiracy, some do exist (taking shortcuts to larger profits), but most are imputed because the ignorant don't believe there is any objective backing to what they don't understand.
